COFFEE CREEK CORRECTIONAL FACILITY DUFFEL BAGS
May 7 & 14 | Contact: GC Office
Every year there are many women that are released from Coffee Creek prison to rejoin society. A good share of those women have family to return to in the Portland area, but there are many women each year that have to travel beyond Portland to reach their home. Upon leaving, these women are given their items in a cardboard box to carry their belongings. We would like to encourage and bless these women by providing them with a rolling duffel bag packed with some basic hygiene and personal items to make their travel easier. We are creating 60 bags that can be “sponsored” for $40 each to cover the cost of the items in it. To sponsor a bag (or bags), visit the Coffee Creek Duffel table on May 7th and 14th. We will be having a Bag Packing Party on Saturday, May 20th to prepare the bags for the ladies. This day is a great Family on Mission event! Bring your kids with you to the church building at 9am, and we will bless a lot of ladies!

During the month of May we look for ways to step into social justice issues by serving. Donating our blood, our physical body, is a unique way to help those who fight illness, have had accidents or injury, or experienced natural disasters. It is a very tangible way to help those who literally cannot help them themselves. If you would like to donate blood, visit redcrossblood.org and search using sponsor code “gracechapel”. If you have any questions, contact Lauren.
