Announcements: Week of June 17th

Heart of the City is organizing a community outreach event called “Gear up for School”. Our vision is to gather much-needed coats, backpacks, shoes and school supplies for our local schools. We will be collecting items from June 3rd until August 19th. Donations will be accepted on Sunday’s at Meridian Creek, The Heart of the City and various places in our community to be communicated. Our big community day, where families can come and get school supplies, will be August 22nd 11:00am to 1:00pm, and will be held at The Heart of the City, 28925 SW Boberg Rd. Wilsonville, OR. On this day we will offer free haircuts and lunch will be provided!

Supplies we need:
Colored pencils (Crayola brand only)
Crayons 24 pack (Crayola brand only)
Colored markers (Crayola brand only)
Lined paper (wide/college rules)
Spiral Notebooks
Index cards
Composition books
#2 pencils
Glue sticks

The Meeting of the Moms is now “REAL Moms” (REAL stands for Renewed, Encouraged, Accepted & Loved). We realize motherhood doesn’t get easier. It changes from season to season and gets richer as we learn to rely on Jesus in the everyday. REAL Moms is here to encourage, equip and support all moms to not just survive motherhood, but to thrive in it, in whatever season you find yourself in. Starting June 20, we will be meeting weekly at local parks over the summer. Follow @gckidventure and @gcauthenticgrace on Instagram and Facebook to stay up to date on events and gatherings.

5th annual SH homework burning! Bring your papers and tests that you wished never existed/never want to see again! We will also be enjoying the pool and having a bbq dinner. Contact Reegan for details and location.

Parks&Wreck is for all incoming Middle School students! Bring all your friends for an epic crazy fun event at the park. We will be playing Bigger or Better, so make sure your child wears shoes they can run around in! This is the only week they will not get messy!


Girls: June 24-26 Cost: $150 |  Guys: June 24-27 Cost: $125 | Contact: Reegan
We will be heading to the beach separately and coming together for one day for surfing+body boarding and playing on the beach! Guys are camping and girls will be staying @ Tolovana Inn in Cannon Beach. Cost includes food + lodging + transportation.  Email to sign up.

Join Grace Chapel and other area churches in putting on a free health fair! A Compassion Clinic is a church-led medical, dental, and support initiative offered free of charge for our community. Would you like to be a part of this event? Come visit this informational meeting to hear more about Compassion Clinics, how we can provide free health care to our area, and how we can unite as the Kingdom of God to serve our hurting populations. The clinic will take place on October 20th. Contact Lauren if you would like to attend this meeting.


July 2, 3, 5 & 6 | Contact: Matt

Experience four days you won’t forget at Vertical Pursuit Basketball Camp, a premier instructional camp for players entering grades 3-8. Receive individual instruction and specific coaching adapted to age and skill level from expert coaches within a wholesome and safe Christian environment. Open to beginner & intermediate boys and girls. Camp includes guest appearances, professional level coaching, character focused principles, age and level appropriate training, Free Basketball and T-shirt. The camp will be located at Meridian Creek Middle School, 6300 SW Hazel St Wilsonville, OR 97070.

Camp Times and Cost:
9:00am – 12:00pm for Grades 3-5  ($109)
9:00am – 3:00pm for Grades 6-8 ($159)

“Move-Up” Sunday will affect toddlers, preschoolers and elementary aged kids (except for 5th graders who moved up to Ardent on May 6th). Kidventure follows Oregon school guidelines for grade level advancement, admitting a child to the appropriate class based on the child’s age on September 1st. Children in grades K-4th will attend the classroom that coincides with their school grade for the 2018/2019 school year.
