Beginning with Advent and ending with Easter, we will be diving into the Gospel according to Luke. Together we’ll explore Luke’s detailed account of Jesus’ life and ministry and discover what it means for our life today. Join us on Sundays at 9 & 11 a.m. as we work through this life changing book together.
Part 1: Inception
Kicking off our Advent series, Pastor Mike looks at the background, history, author and purpose of the Gospel of Luke. Who is Theophilus, Herod, Zachariah, & Elizabeth? Why is Luke writing this, and what is his background and history? All of these questions, and more, are considered as we move into Advent.
Part 2: Arrival
God found favor in the most unlikely of people. In this teaching, Pastor Mike looks at how two teenagers (Mary & Joseph) were entrusted with a tremendous amount of responsibility. What does that mean for us? What is God entrusting to our care?
Part 3: When God is not Convenient
Our convenience often drives us to make compromising choices that take us away from God’s best. In this teaching, Pastor Mike looks at Mary as a model of trust in God regardless of how inconvenient her life will become.
Part 4: Fulfilled
God desires great things for all of us. In this teaching, Pastor Mike looks at how the life of John was intended for greatness. Knowing, believing, and stepping humbly forward with what God wants are the first steps to discover what He has for us.
Part 5: Christmas Eve
We had a great Christmas Eve service this year. Focusing on the Wonder, Gift, and Savior of Christmas, Pastor Mike leads us in considering that first Christmas night and what it must have felt like.

Part 6: Belonging
Everyone wants to belong to something. Joseph and Mary were no different…but they had a perceived scandal on their hands. In this teaching, Pastor Milo looks at what we can learn from how Mary & Joseph navigated some difficult seasons as a they sought to belong to their community of faith.
Part 7: Prepare the Way
John the Baptizer was a sight to behold. Pastor Mike looks at some lessons we can learn from John about how we can live the life that God desires for all of us. Specifically, we considered how we can each be a person that prepares the way for others towards Jesus.
Part 8: Baptism of Jesus
John the Baptist was to prepare the way of the Lord. How did he do that? In this teaching, Pastor Mike looks at specific elements that made up John’s ministry as a way to present the person of Jesus to a waiting Israel.
Part 9: Temptation of Jesus
Been tempted lately? Often the temptations that we experience give us windows into our own soul. It’s bait on a hook. In this teaching, Pastor Mike considers the temptation of Christ and how He was tempted in all points as we are.
Part 10: Jesus Calls His Disciples
What does it mean to follow Jesus? In this teaching, Pastor Mike considers what it means to be captivated by Jesus and pursue Him as the follower’s He calls us to be.
Part 11: A Life Well Built
What are you building your life upon? In this teaching, Pastor Milo considers some teaching of Jesus that offer us some basic ideas for how God wants to build our lives on a firm foundation that can stand the storms of life.
Part 12: Jesus Pursues
Have you found yourself at a point in your life where you are dying spiritually? Do you feel unworthy of Jesus paying attention and stepping in to your misery? Jesus finds wrecked people and offers hope and healing. Our responsibility isn’t to pretty ourselves up before hand, but instead position ourselves for His miraculous touch.
Part 13: Who Is Jesus?
With John the Baptist in prison, the question arises, “Is Jesus the Messiah? Is He the promised one?” It’s a question that comes out of a season of pain and confusion. In this teaching, Pastor Mike looks at how Jesus reveals who we need Him to be…not necessarily who we want Him to be.
Part 14: Jesus Draws the Line
When Jesus turns his eyes towards Jerusalem, the Gospel of Luke changes in tone. Jesus’ ministry begins focusing on what it means to live a life that ushers in the Kingdom of God. In this teaching, Pastor Mike looks at some difficult things Jesus says and how those sayings apply to our life today.
Part 15: Party Like Jesus
The invitation that God gives to all of us is the greatest invite we will ever receive. We have the greatest reason to party! In this teaching, Pastor Milo looks at how Jesus instructs us to party and how that should shape our communities. Celebration should be a hallmark of the Christian life.
Part 16: Going, Baptizing, Teaching
What does it mean to make disciples? How are we to go, baptize, and teach in a way that points others towards Jesus? In this teaching, Scott Burns, on of our missionaries, shares how Jesus’ ministry points towards the Great Commission and how we can be a part of living that out today.
Part 17: Shrewd
Is it okay to be shrewd? In this teaching, Pastor Mike looks at one of the most confusing parables of Jesus. Considering where we are placing our hope, the role of money in our lives, and how we can be shrewd are all on the table for consideration in this teaching.
Part 18: Jesus is Lord
The idea that Jesus is Lord shakes us to the foundations of our belief system. In this teaching, Pastor Mike considers the ramifications of calling Jesus our Lord and the hope and healing it ushers into our life.
Part 19: Jesus is Risen
The resurrection is the center piece to the Christian experience. Without it our faith is in vain. Celebrating Easter, Pastor Mike looks at the hope that is ours because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Part 20: Jesus is Hope
On a dusty road, two men found themselves discussing how all hope had been lost. Then Jesus joined them on their journey. In this teaching, Pastor Mike looks at how the road to Emmaus became a journey of hope. Because of the resurrection, the story of Hope in our lives isn’t finished.
Part 21: Jesus is Peace
To a room filled with frightened, startled, troubled and doubting friends, Jesus offers peace…shalom. In this teaching, Pastor Milo considers what Jesus asks of us as a way to offer us the peace that our mind and souls crave.
Part 22: Jesus is Assurance
In this teaching, Pastor Mike shares on how Jesus came to fulfill the prophecies of the Old Testament and how our lives can be marked by different symbols.
Part 23: Anointed
In the last moments of His time on earth, Jesus commissions His disciples to take the Gospel into all the world. By making His story our story, we have the chance to become a part of His redemptive story for mankind. We are anointed and sent in bringing that story into the places where we live, work, and play.
