The rummage sale was born out of Grace Chapel’s commitment to our community and our desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus in caring for the needy among us. The idea of a rummage sale was proposed, in hopes that we could ask our church body to donate their gently used stuff, sell it for a cheap price, and donate 100% of the proceeds to hunger and poverty in Wilsonville.
We had no idea what the scope of this event would become.
After 7 years of doing this event we have raised over $96,000 which has been funneled back into our community. Our sale is anticipated each year by many who donate items, volunteer, and/or shop. Due to the success of this sale, over the years a number individuals and organizations contact us for assistance of varying degrees. Examples include Wilsonville Community Sharing, Random Kindness, all six Wilsonville public schools, Coffee Creek Correctional Facility, Head Start, Royal Family Kids Camp, Lionís Pride, Wilsonville Library, homeless ministries, missions teams, and many Wilsonville families. It has been a joy to hear these stories and provide basic needs and financial help.
100% of the profits from the Wilsonville Rummage Sale go to addressing the issues of HUNGER AND POVERTY in our community.
